This Sunday, 1 October, there is a service of Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer at 8am at St Mary the Virgin, Horne, a special service of Harvest Morning Worship at 9.30am at St Bartholomew, Burstow, a Family Service at 10am at St Mary the Virgin, Horne and a service of Holy Communion at 11am at St John the Baptist, Outwood. And as always, there is an online service here, too, which this week is led by the Revd Charles Sargent

The Collect for the seventeenth Sunday after Trinity

Almighty God, you have made us for yourself,
and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you:
pour your love into our hearts and draw us to yourself,
and so bring us at last to your heavenly city
where we shall see you face to face;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen

The Prayers

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,

Blessing

Let us build a house where love can dwell
and all can safely live,
a place where saints and children tell
how hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
rock of faith and vault of grace;
here the love of Christ shall end divisions:

Let us build a house where prophets speak,
and words are strong and true,
where all God’s children dare to seek
to dream God’s reign anew.
